Salesforce is ramping up its AI sales force. The cloud software giant announced plans to hire 2,000 new sales representatives to push its AI products to customers.
According to a report by CNBC, CEO Marc Benioff revealed this hiring spree at a company event on Tuesday. This move significantly expands on the 1,000 hires he mentioned to Bloomberg just last month. Benioff also noted that the company has already received 9,000 referrals for these roles.
Salesforce’s hiring push coincides with the February release of the second generation of its AI agent software.
Speaking on TechCrunch’s Equity podcast, Benioff expressed his optimism, predicting, “I’ve never been more excited about anything at Salesforce, maybe in my career.” He anticipates the company will have over a billion AI agents operating within the next year.
This expansion highlights Salesforce’s growing investment in generative AI and its commitment to scaling up its AI offerings.
