What Is Gemini?

Gemini, formerly Bard, is an advanced chatbot from Google that functions uniquely. The AI relies on a massive dataset of pre-existing information on the Internet to generate responses.

While the majority of other chatbots can only understand written text, Gemini was designed from the start to be “multimodal.” And so, it can work with different types of data, including text, code, audio, images, and video all at the same time.

Most AI systems are focused on just one area, like text chatbots or image recognition. But Gemini was built by a large team of Google researchers to be much more versatile and able to connect different types of information.

In other words, Gemini isn’t limited in the ways it can communicate and understand information. You can provide prompts to it as text, pictures, or audio recordings, and it will analyze and respond using the best format for the task.
