What Is Claude?

Claude is an artificial intelligence assistant created by Anthropic with a focus on being helpful, harmless, and honest to users. They trained Claude using a technique called Constitutional AI to ensure it behaves ethically and avoids potential harm.

Claude is designed to have conversations with people just like a friendly chatbot. Under the hood, it utilizes deep learning models called “language models” that were taught from billions of words on the Internet.

The comprehensive training helps it understand language and respond naturally. While the AI doesn’t have subjective experiences, personal opinions, or independent decisions, it can discuss many topics and answer questions to the best of my abilities.

Anthropic offers a couple of versions of Claude, including Claude and Claude Instant. Claude has high performance while Claude Instant is a lighter version that is faster and more affordable since it has a smaller model.
