Vector Magic

What Is Vector Magic?

Vector Magic is an application for transforming bitmap graphics such as JPG, PNG, and GIF format images into high-quality vector graphics. When creating print materials, embroidery designs, or digital assets, Vector Magic can quickly provide artwork ready for a wide range of applications.

The platform offers both online and standalone desktop versions. The online version is perfect for quick and convenient conversions, where you can simply upload your bitmap images, and Vector Magic will automatically trace them and produce scalable vector files in popular formats like SVG, EPS, and PDF.

The results are ready in no time, with no software installation required. Using Vector Magic online is thus an ideal solution for on-the-go needs.

For those who prefer an offline solution, the Vector Magic desktop application offers a comprehensive set of features. In addition to supporting all of the file formats included within the online version, AI and DXF file formats are also supported by the desktop edition.

AI and DXF formats work well with industry-leading design software like Adobe Illustrator and Corel.

Vector Magic Features

• User-friendly interface: The user-friendly interface of Vector Magic allows you to not only upload your bitmap images but also review and edit the resulting vector files within the same tool. It becomes easy to make any necessary adjustments and ensure the final output meets your requirements.
• Full-color auto-tracing: This is a standout feature of Vector Magic, which is great compared to other vectorization tools that struggle with complex and colorful images. Vector Magic can convert such pictures into scalable vector graphics without losing the details and brightness.
• Sub-pixel precision: The tool doesn't just crudely convert the bitmap pixels into vector shapes, but rather traces out every bit of information available, even down to the individual edge pixels. Such precision ensures that the resulting vector graphics maintain the finest details and smoothness and allow for scaling and high-quality output, regardless of the final size or medium.
• Tracing: But what truly sets Vector Magic apart is its unwavering commitment to tracing, rather than merely embedding the pixels. Many online services simply embed the pixels without actually tracing the underlying shapes. This approach may seem like a quick fix, but it fails to bring the true benefits of vector graphics, such as scalability, editability, and superior print quality.

Vector Magic Pros

• Has a background remover

Vector Magic Cons

• Longer processing time compared to other automated and AI vectorization tools
• Limited output options (SVG, EPS, and PDF)
• Free usage is limited

Vector Magic Use Cases

• Art prints: Vector Magic is an indispensable tool for artists and designers concerned about the quality of their art prints. Its capability to trace bitmap images with sub-pixel accuracy ensures that each subtle brushstroke, complex line, or vivid color is well captured.
• Logos: When it comes to branding and corporate identity, Vector Magic shines as a powerful tool for logo design and refinement. It makes it possible for a logo to maintain its integrity and visual impact across a wide range of applications, from business cards and stationery to digital assets and large-scale signage.
